When we feel competent and important we are much more likely to achieve our full potential. It’s the same for children of course. The key social-emotional skills they need in school are:
~be able to develop good relationships with their peers
~be able to concentrate and persist (even when a task it challenging) #grit
~confidence (built in a range of areas)
~ability to communicate their emotions
~ability to listen to instructions and be attentive
When these 5 skills are developed children can feel important and competent to go on to fulfill their full potential!
