Benefits of meditation in the classroom

For years, my Lion King cd was a great way to start the morning and end the day with the Savannah in Africa drumming through the classroom; Kensington seemed a million miles away for me and the children for those 10 minutes.

We could wash away the distractions and focus on the day ahead. Clear our thoughts and offer peace and kindness to all during these moments. It was a great way to start and finish a day. The feel good factor always resonates with this music and our imagination could transport us to another world.

Of course it was an introduction to meditation. It became a vital part of the school day.

The benefits of meditation for mind, body and spirit will only enhance a great learning environment.
